Rectors and Hall Staff
All residence hall rectors, assistant rectors (ARs), and resident assistants (RAs) receive training on issues surrounding homosexuality during Hall Staff Orientation each August. Many rectors have extensive training and experience (Master's degrees or higher) in Pastoral Counseling and/or Counseling. We encourage you to contact a member of hall staff if you have questions or are looking for more information on this topic.
Campus Ministry
The Office of Campus Ministry sponsors an annual retreat for gay and lesbian students and their friends and also coordinates Solidarity Sunday. Solidarity Sunday is a designated Sunday in the fall when congregations at each campus Mass are asked to pray together for an increased inclusion of all members of the Church, a clearer understanding of the role sexual identity plays in one's life, and an end to anti-gay violence.
Campus Ministry also maintains a library with materials pertinent to gay/lesbian issues in Room 304 of the Coleman-Morse Building. For more information contact Fr. Joe Carey, C.S.C.: 574-631-7800
